For the past 19 years, the Meals on Wheels organization in Atlanta has been organizing the Meals to Remember event in an effort to raise funds to provide nutritious meals for the financially challenged elderly. Every year, famous chefs from all over the world are flown in to cook incredible meals for the attendees. This year's event had a Spanish theme and therefore, Spanish food was served.
Every year, the Meals on Wheels organization chooses a honoree, the person who they believe is most deserving of the title. The criteria is based on the work and accomplishments of the individual for charitable organizations and for their charitable work in general. This year's honoree was Hans Godo Frabel, in recognition for his tireless efforts to so many charitable organizations. He was introduced to the attendees by Monica Pearson (formerly known as Monica Kaufman) with WSBTV news. Via a video message, President Carter sent his congratulations and best wishes to Hans Godo Frabel congratulating him on this great honor.
